Jenson Button shines at London Triathlon

Despite suffering from a bout of tonsillitis in the days leading up to the event, McLaren’s Jenson Button put in an impressive performance at Sunday’s London Triathlon. Button is understood to have finished fourth out of the 570 competitors in his group, with a time of 2.14:14.  

Lotus to field young Malaysian driver at aero test

Lotus have announced on Friday that 16 year-old Malaysian driver Nabil Jeffri will carry out an aero test for the team at an undisclosed location in early September. Jeffri, who is a member of the AirAsia ASEAN Driver Development Program, is currently fifth in the Formula BMW Pacific championship.

Schumacher handed 10-place grid penalty for Spa

Michael Schumacher has been punished by the Hungarian Grand Prix stewards for his clash with Williams’ Rubens Barrichello in the closing laps of Sunday's Budapest race. Schumacher receives a 10-place grid penalty for the next round in Belgium.

Five-place grid penalty for Kobayashi

BMW Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi has been handed a five-place grid penalty for Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix by the Budapest race stewards, after he failed to enter the FIA garage to have his car weighed during qualifying on Saturday.

Following their controversial one-two result at the German Grand Prix, Ferrari have been fined US$100,000 by the FIA after race stewards deemed they had breached sporting regulations. The case has also been referred to the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).

Frustrated Ferrari determined to bounce back

Ferrari’s Stefano Domenicali has admitted that his team are going to have to dig deep to recover from their recent trials and tribulations, but he is optimistic that they can turn things around. The Maranello squad have scored just 19 points from the last three races and are currently third in the constructors’ standings, trailing championship leaders McLaren by 113 points.

Massa started to race for Ferrari in 2006, following a stint at Ferrari-engined Sauber, and over his 69 Grands Prix with the Italian outfit has taken 11 wins, 30 podiums, 15 pole positions, 12 fastest race laps and 360 world championship points.

Red Bull Racing announced on Monday that Mark Webber’s contract has been extended, meaning the Australian will continue to drive for the team next season. Webber, who leads the 2010 driver standings, has been with the Austrian-owned squad since 2007.

Mercedes GP have announced they will not appeal the stewards' decision to penalise Michael Schumacher following Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix. Schumacher dropped from sixth to 12th in the results after he was handed a 20-second time penalty for his overtaking manoeuvre on Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso in the dying moments of the Monte Carlo race.

Ferraris Jean Todt relinquishes CEO role

It was confirmed by Ferraris shareholders on Tuesday that Jean Todt has stepped down from his role as CEO. Todt, who was appointed to the position in 2006, will be replaced by 62 year-old general manager Amedeo Felisa.
