FIA invites new teams to enter 2011 championshipThe FIA has requested expressions of interest from new teams who may wish to participate in the 2011 world championship. The Formula One regulations allow for 13 teams, meaning there is currently one slot available for next season.

FIA publish revised 2010 entry list!

The official entry list for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship was republished by the FIA on Thursday evening. Following weeks of speculation the sport's governing body has confirmed the North Carolina-based US team will not compete, which means 12 teams will line up on the grid at next week's season-opener in Bahrain.

FIA set to approve further points and tyre rule changes

The Formula One Commission, comprised of the sports major stakeholders, has agreed a number of proposals for last-minute revisions to the 2010 regulations. Among them are further changes to the points system and to the tyre rules. The proposals will be put to the FIA World Motor Sport Council for approval later this week.

New safety car rules for 2010

FIA race director Charlie Whiting has confirmed that the safety car rules have been altered for the 2009 season. The previous regulations, which saw the pit lane closed for a period of time after the safety cars deployment, came under intense scrutiny last year after several drivers were penalised for pitting to avoid running out of fuel.

2010 FIA Formula One World Championship Entry List

The FIA published the entry list for the 2010 world championship on Monday evening, featuring 12 rather than the expected 13 teams. According to Formula One racing's governing body, this is related to Toyotas planned withdrawal and an announcement regarding their entry will be made in due course.

Todt elected new FIA President

Jean Todt has succeeded Max Mosley as President of Formula One racings governing body, the FIA, after comfortably winning a vote of the FIA General Assembly in Paris on Friday. Mosley, who backed Todts campaign against sole opponent Ari Vatanen, had held the role since 1993.

FIA hands individual punishments to Briatore and Symonds

In addition to handing Renault a suspended two-year ban after finding the team guilty of conspiring to cause a premeditated crash during last years Singapore Grand Prix, the FIAs World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has meted out individual punishments to former team principal, Flavio Briatore, and former engineering director, Pat Symonds.

FIA release Concorde Agreement statement

Formula One racings governing body, the FIA, issued the following press release on Friday:
“Following the completion of negotiations with FOA and all 13 Formula One teams by FIA President Max Mosley and FIA Deputy President for Sport Nick Craw, the members of the World Motor Sport Council have been sent a copy of the proposed new Concorde Agreement for their consideration.

Setting the Record Straight
Before FOTAs decision to walk out of yesterdays Technical Working Group meeting, the President of the FIA wrote twice to the President of FOTA to remind him that any amendments to the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship regulations were subject to the unanimous approval of the five teams that had already entered for next season under the rules as published.
