Renault launches 2008 roadshow programme

Renault have revealed their planned programme of roadshows for the coming season. Launched in 2003, the French teams events have already thrilled more than two million people worldwide, in cities across the globe including Moscow, Seville, Tokyo, Lyon, Istanbul and Rome.

In 2008, Renault intend to be just as well travelled, with dates planned in Europe, Asia, South Africa and America throughout the year. In total, the squad hope to put on ten roadshows, in addition to those which traditionally accompany the World Series by Renault events.

“The essence of the Roadshow is about bringing F1 to the fans,” explained Renault team principal Flavio Briatore. “We drive our cars in front of the public, on the roads of their city or during a World Series by Renault event.

“It's about giving people the opportunity to approach the cars, the team and the drivers; to do things that they would never normally have the opportunity to do during the course of a Grand Prix weekend. The ING Renault F1 Roadshow is above all about showing the public what modern Formula One is all about: a fabulous spectacle and an unforgettable experience!”

The first roadshow will take place in May on the streets of Marseille in the south of France.

Renaults provisional roadshow calendar:
17-18 May - Marseille, France
31 May -1 June - Central Europe
14-15 June - Europe
16-27 July - Johannesburg, South Africa
16-17 August - Europe
20-21 September - Eastern Europe
25-26 October - Europe
November - South America
End of season final - Asia
